Physical Therapy: Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapyor Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a non thermal, safe, natural and painless therapy that can penetrate deep into the tissue and use the body's own natural healing systems to relieve pain, decrease inflammation, improve tissue repair, increase joint mobility and promote cell regeneration (increases stem cells production).

Cold Laser Therapy works by applying red and infra-red light over the injured area and supplies energy to the body in the form of billions of photons of light. The body then absorbs the laser light at a cellular level and transforms it into chemical energy, which the body then uses to initiate its own tissue repairs. The bio-stimulating effect of the laser therapy causes an increase of blood, a decrease of swelling and therefore a decrease of inflammationand pain and an increase in tissue regeneration and healing.

At Healing The Generations, we use The Super Pulsed Laser technology by Multi Radiance that provides an optimal and safe mechanism of energydelivery by combining three clinically proven wavelengths for optimal penetration. The Super Pulsing avoids unwelcome effects of continuous wavesuch as thermal damage and it creates 75% less power at the surface!

Applied by a licensed therapist, the Cold Laser is placed directly over the treated areas from 30 seconds up to several minutes, depending on the size of the area as well as the dose provided by the cold laser unit. The treatment takes about 10 to 15 minutes and should be applied two or more times a week for optimum result.

The Cold Laser benefits to patients are:

  • Drug free and pain free treatment
  • Safe, no side effects and non invasive
  • Affordable
  • Reduction of the need for surgery and addictive pain medications

Cold Laser Therapy provides relief from:

  • Back and Neck pain
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Arthritis
  • Chronic and acute pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Tendonitis
  • Neuralgia
  • Neuropathy
  • TMJ Disorder
  • Pre/post surgeries
  • Swelling
  • Wound Care
  • Sport injuries
  • MyoFascial Pain Syndrome

For optimal results for chronic conditions, a serie of 9 to 12 sessions are recommended. However, great results can be achieved with 6 sessions except for acute conditions where as little as 1 session can resolve the issue as long as it is provided within 12 to 24 hrs post injury.
